DanceSport Championships

The Gumbo DanceSport Championships is an amateur only dancesport competition sanctioned by USA Dance and is a National Qualifying Event for the 2010 USA Dance National Championships.

Chapter 5031 of USA Dance is the official host for this competition and Louisiana DanceSport is the event organizer.  The 2009 Gumbo DanceSport Championships is also an official participant in the 2009 Louisiana Governor’s Games sponsored by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

The Governor’s Games is made up of 24 sporting events being held in Baton Rouge.  Each sport participating in the Governor’s Games provides a “championship” setting to prepare athletes for national and international competition.  The Governor’s Games holds a membership in the National Congress of State Games, which is sanctioned by the United States Olympic Committee.
